Last month, Stripe kicked off a "Bring Your Own Team" hiring initiative, essentially encouraging people to apply to Stripe in teams of 2 - 5. You can read about it here: https://stripe.com/blog/bring-your-own-team
My question is this - is this how recruitment should work across the board? Did Stripe stumble upon a disruptive way of hiring engineers that should be applied across the entire industry?
I would argue yes, because the company ends up with a team of engineers who get along well, and don't need any time getting in sync with each other. The teams applying benefit, because as a group you have greater leverage.
What do you think?
