JavaSCript and Node.js have certainly been in the limelight for the last three-four years. It's being used for companies big an small often to relay traffic do to simple CRUD operations.
But I'm wondering why it still seems to be hard to find credible options for a solid eCommerce or Content Management platforms? Platform a in a sense that that tool (like Magento, for example) then becomes and ecosystem of it's own with extensions and add ons?
Is it just that developing these type of tools is not feasible to write in JavaScript / TypeScript or other JS targeting languages?
Is it likely that Node.js will continue to be essentially an integration platform with a lightweight microframework where as the heavy lifting will continue to be done by Java / .Net / PHP / etc?
