The attached article[1] is the closest we've come so far. I'm curious to hear thoughts on holographic data storage in the abstract, not just this specific attempt.
It seems like with rising amounts of data needed, we will need higher density media sooner than later. At the very least, WORM media like BD-R XL will get left behind once 4K footage, VR assets, and so on become mainstream.
