Ionic has been doing its thing (web technologies for cross-platform mobile dev) for a long time. I enjoyed playing w/ it to build prototypes many years ago, but never embraced it fully for "real" projects -- largely because it was built on Angular. Now that they've announced proper support for React, it's become much more interesting to me. Time will tell, but I suspect others feel the same, and its adoption will skyrocket.
