Renewing domains on NetworkSolutions now is like walking a mine field

The original company was the only place .com names could be registered when I registered my first domain, I stuck with them out of not wanting to have to set up my DNS records all over again for many years, but after navigating my renewals this year, I can't say next year I'll stay with them. I am so tired of a company that expects to be a trusted service provider that tries to constantly trick me into add-on services. I am amazed how they are getting away with this, and why barely anyone else speaks publicly about this problem.

During the process of renewing my domains, I was presented with a lot of extra screens on their web site where additional NETSOL services were already selected (by deault), and user interface buttons were deceptively placed to encourage me to adding those services, like privacy protection, SSL certs, etc that of course would cost me more money on a monthly basis. When I arrived at the "cart" screen, there were things I didn't select in there as well, which greatly inflated my overall cost, when all I wanted to do was renew 3 web domains I own.

I own an enterprise hosting account with Network Solutions as well, that doesn't permit SSH, PHP updates, or 3rd party certificate installs... Of course all things offered by NETSOL for a fee.I can't imagine how many people they trick with their practices, but for me it's time to move away from Network Solutions.

If anyone has any good recommendations on who I can continue my registrations and hosting with I'd be very thankful... :/
