Could we define a "weekly food package" (WFP) that contained enough protein, carbs, etc. for a person for a week? Could we arrange centers for constructing such a WFP? Could we get FedEx/DHL/Amazon to schedule weekly delivery to each house? Could we set up a WFP website for people to sign up?
I'm pretty sure the website is the easy part. FedEx/DHL/Amazon have the delivery capability, although they would probably have to get gas/mileage subsidy. They also have the systems for package tracking.
As for the WFP contents; does anybody know how/where the military produces Meals-Ready-To-Eat (MRE)? Obviously somebody associated with MREs has already looked at the caloric/carbs/etc. question.
I'm at a complete loss for how to organize food shipment from farms to packaging.
Ideas are welcome.
