There's now an inordinately long list of TLDs but as PG pontificated it's .com or bust[1]. Only problem, there's less chance of a clean .com now more than ever.
Question here is do users (including non-techies) grok the new wave of TLDs (for example .app or .tech, less so .io & .co) and if so, what companies are thriving without the .com conformity?
Conversely what's the sentiment of [get,join,...]StartupName.com
The context of the question aims at domain naming for a SaaS service with non-techie users but applies more broadly.
