It's been about 5 years and I completed that plan, I graduated college with a major in CIS and attended a coding bootcamp afterwars, I got an internship about 6 months later and then I got a tech job as a developer where I have been a couple of years now.
This article https://daedtech.com/how-developers-stop-learning-rise-of-the-expert-beginner/ which was posted today in HN made me think. And for the past couple of months I have struggle coming up with long term plans to go.
I was thinking about going to grad school, but honestly the money and the lack of a clear reason why to attend makes me wonder about how is the best way of planning for the future?
Currently, when I think of long term plans I lack a structure for planning. Is there a structure you find useful.
General things I wish to achieve long term.
- Become better at my craft (Software Engineering) - Become financially free - Start a business - Travel the world
But these things seem to general, I wonder if there are resources, templates, books for creating clear actionable long term goals?
