I have yet to meet anyone who's using recent advances in generative AIs to substantially replace either their job or companies that have been successful at replacing employees' jobs. I believe the tech may get there someday but there's been a lot of breathless hype around it lately.
For example, a recent Pew poll found that those surveyed who have used ChatGPT found it "somewhat useful" [0] which has been my experience as well. Helpful enough to use occasionally, but not enough to replace substantial amounts of work.
I'm wondering if anyone is using it or knows of anyone who's using it to replace work substantially (i.e. not using it to just help, but completely eliminating most of their work)? Or has had their work actually been replaced by recent generative AIs? If so, what was the work that was replaced?
