Could we have some standard to encourage the use of + notations and a list of recommended email filters that can be easily imported to gmail/thunderbird/etc... to autosort emails to the right folder?
(For searchability, this is called subaddressing, but it is also known as plus addressing, tagged addressing or mail extensions)
If we can get enough companies and individuals to stick to this notations, then it would make managing emails and filtering emails less of a hassle.
I'm thinking of a list that would have one field called 'well-known' tag and another row that would contain description.
As for the plus address... should we append a UUID to make it more distinct? e.g. `testuser+invoice-b8e10d8c-5a3b-4006-93e7-9e7180d80215@example.com` which would have a well known subaddress tag 'invoice' and a UUID which would have a more detailed explanation that this is an incoming invoice etc...
One possible reason for having a UUID, is maybe you have an invoice that is actually a bit more structured... (e.g. has an einvoice that can be parsed by a program or something) so maybe it be good to be able to disambiguate between both?
Anyway that's enough thoughts before we veer off into bikeshedding territory. Be happy to hear your thoughts if this should be explored further.
