Control stations for the smart home, Siri-style web navigation and computer vision tech were just some of the bright ideas on display at the Digital Inclusion Innovation Contest last week in London.
We were particularly intrigued by the satnav for the blind.
“The way it works is you have a smartphone and it matches the images it sees with the Google Street View image and from this we can work out their location and orientation and produce some instructions to guide them to the door.”
