I've added binary variable support to twitter_to_csv (https://github.com/cantino/twitter_to_csv) and wanted to show you guys in case others will find it useful.
This library dumps tweets to CSV, rolls up retweets, does sentiment analysis, generates composite binary variables, and more. It is currently being used for ongoing epidemiological research at UCSF.
