Stories of mass surveillance and less stringent requirements to intercept communication are becoming common. How are companies like telegram able to offer encrypted chat [1]? AFAIK, telegram is based in Germany and EU laws mandate lawful interception. So how do these companies comply with the law?
Is there any country in the world that does not try to snoop communication systems or try to retrieve data stored online (cloud/other hosts)?
